Anyone who has Adobe Photoshop there's no such thing. Sometimes the King of Apps is way more than you need to size down a picture of your dog for quick blog or forum entry.
Thank god my pal Dave pointed me recently to ImageWell
Easy little app for cropping, resizing photos, adding watermarks, photo credits, rounding corners or other shapes - you even can enter in your FTP specifics and it will upload your pics to the server for you! (Or you can drag it out of the well to the desktop for use in email or upping online in other ways.)
The neat thing is the image code it gives you after uploading can be url, html, BBCode... how great is that? Pretty great! It saves files as jpeg, tiff or PNG, no gif support, which if you are doing photos (which is most likely) you don't need anyway, not to mention certain legal issues involved in that one.
(The images to the left and right were all done in it from a PDF screencap dragged in to the well.) It will save your pics anywhere you want using the slide out drawer, and will save the uploaded pic URL to your clipboard. Handy!
There are a number of buttons for snapping and saving pics in the slide out drawer, accessed by clicking MORE. It will shoot desktop pictures as well as selection pictures, say just a window (the app will vanish on these after pressing the button and reappear with your shot in the well - how handy is that?). My only wish is for there to be a tool appear when you roll over the buttons so I know what they do a little easier.
It's fabulous for bloggers, even those of us with degrees in design who just want scissors, not a chainsaw. For everyone else this graphic will be a god send!
